System requirements vary, but as long as your minimum upload speed is at least three Mbps and your download speed is at least three Mbps, you should be able to play most online games.
Even more important is ensuring you have the required bandwidth for your entire household to minimize ping, as those speeds are per person (i.e., if you have three gamers using the same connection, you’ll need a minimum of 3 Mbps upload speeds and 9 Mbps download speeds).
Latency is the amount of time it takes a packet of data to go from transmitter to receiver. Think of it this way: if you and your opponent attack at the same time, the player with the lower latency will have a greater advantage, because their signal will reach the game’s server first.
The easiest way to minimize latency in your connection is to hardwire your connection via an Ethernet port.
Fiber-Fast internet generally offers faster upload and download speeds, along with a more reliable connection.
